Transportation in the United States: A Review

It serves 260 million people and 6 million business establishments spread over the fourth largest country (in land area) in the world. This report provides a snapshot of the transportation system, highlighting its physical characteristics and trends in passenger travel and freight movement. The report also examines transportation’s economic performance, its safety record, energy use, and environmental impacts.
