FTA Guidance Manual

HMMH developed the Federal Transit Administration's manual for Transit Noise and Vibration Impact Assessment and Federal Railroad Administration's manual for High Speed Rail Noise and Vibration Impact Assessment to assist both preparers and reviewers of environmental noise and vibration documentation. HMMH staff have contributed to other publications in the field of rail noise and vibration control such as: the FTA's Handbook of Urban Rail Noise and Vibration Control; the Transportation Noise Reference Book (Butterworths, London, 1987); and the Handbook of Acoustical Measurements and Noise Control (McGrawHill, 1991).
