Embarcadero Promenade Ribbon Project

LOCATION: San Francisco, California

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Embarcadero Promenade Ribbon Project is an artist-designed sculpture and pedestrian enhancement integral to the design of San Francisco's Waterfront Transportation Projects. It is a continuous aesthetic component of the bayside pedestrian promenade, fulfilling the function of street furniture in an innovative and economical manner. It is a 2-1/2 mile stretch of an uninterrupted five foot section of black concrete, bisected by a band of solid glass block with below-grade illumination. Its luminous glow at night creates an inviting safe atmosphere for pedestrian and transit user.
