Fruitvale BART Pedestrian Plaza

LOCATION: Oakland, California

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The enhancement project consists of a 20-25,000 square foot public pedestrian plaza at 34th Avnue between the East 14th Street commercial strip and the Fruitvale BART station gate area. The plaza would have excellent landscaping. It is anticipated that the plaza would be surrounded by a mixed-use project which would feature a diversity of housing, community facilities and services and retail, and that existing BART parking would be replaced by a parking structure. The mixed use project and replacement of parking, as well as the pedestrian plaza, would be subject to environmental compliance.
