PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Project consists of improvements to the pedestrian tunnel under the I-5 freeway which constitutes the primary pedestrian linkage between the Central Business District (including the Downtown Plaza shopping mall) and the Old Sacramento Historic District and Sacramento river waterfront. Improvements will include lighting, signage, and new paving to improve the internal aesthetics and safety of the pedestrian tunnel.
