LOCATION: Oakland, California

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Acquisition of approximately 1,303 acres along Carquinez Strait in Contra Costa County will protect the scenic corridor of Highway I-80 including the view from the Carquinez Bridge. The property is also visible by passengers traveling on the Southern Pacific Railroad and from the historic Eckley Townsite on Carquinez Strait east of Crockett. Acquisition also will protect scenic views along Crockett Boulevard, Cummings Skyway and Highway 4 designated as scenic routes in the Contra Costa County General Plan.
