Top of Topanga Canyon Scenic Acquisition

LOCATION: Malibu, California

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Mountain Recreation and Conservation Authority (MCRA) proposes to acquire and develop a 9+ acre scenic overlook site along Topanga Canyon boulevard (Stte Scenic Highway #27) as an enhancement to the Topanga Canyon Boulevard scenic corridor. The property provides the motoriest with spectacular views of the San Fernando Valley and the mountains encircling it and is the only site along the mountainous route with the potential for a scenic turnout. The undeveloped site has been utilized as an overlook since 1927 when the highway was constructed, however, it is currently unsafe and subject to illegal dumping and vandalism.
