LOCATION: Anne Arundel County, Maryland

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Construction of a paved 8-foot-wide, 14.5-mile hiker-biker trail circling the Baltimore-Washington International Airport. This project covers the first phase of a continuing trail enhancement activity in the BWI Airport area. The project will provide new trail construction to connect the Baltimore & Annapolis Trail to MD Rte. 176 and Andover High School; it will also provide a link from Rte. 176 to Hammonds Ferry Road. The trail will enhance the local area's intermodal access by providing a link to the Baltimore area Light Rail System, the airport, and AMTRAK.
