There are no special conditions in making the publications available to the general public. The WYDOT library is going digital which makes publications more readily available to the general public. Further, the WYDOT Library partners with the Wyoming State Library, the University of Wyoming Library system, and the Wyoming State Archives to house state publications.

TRB, FHWA and AASHTO publications, various state publications, WYDOT specific research reports. The majority of reports can be accessed in digital and hard copy format.

What are the particular subject strengths of your collection?:
Safety, maintenance, traffic, bridge, wildlife and ecological studies, performance evaluations, culvert, asphalt and concrete.

The WYDOT Research Center has an electronic database which can be accessed by WYDOT employees. It also partners with the Wyoming State Library, the University of Wyoming Library System, and Wyoming Archives to ensure publications are made available to the general public.

At this time we are downsizing our printed copies. The number of hard copies is decreasing while the number of digital copies is increasing. Between both hard copies and digital copies, it is estimated that the collections is between 10,000 and 20,000 publications.
