Description:
Access to over 246,000 of the library's bibliographic records covering all modes of transportation with an emphasis on highways, urban transportation, traffic engineering, Intelligent Transportation Systems, air transportation and rail. The collection covers engineering, policy and financial aspects. Access is through the University of California's MELVYL on-line catalog.

Subject Strengths:
ITS, traffic engineering, highway engineering, urban transit, California (and particularly San Francisco Bay Area), NTIS tech reports on transportation, and a large collection of European (especially Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Scandinavian countries), Canadian and Australian materials.

Open to the Public: yes

Interlibrary Loan Policies: Accept loan requests by mail, e-mail, fax or OCLC. Journals non-circulating; repository and UMI fiche circulate only in California. One-month loans, no renewals. Materials generally mailed library rate; express delivery available if requestor's account number is used.

Loan Fees: $30 per title. Support from California and U.S. DOT programs provide the following exemptions: No fee for California public agencies or U.S. transit operators; $15 fee for State DOTs and California private sector.

Photocopy Fees: Free to California public agencies. All others: $15 for each title up to 50 pages; $0.20 per each additional page.

Service Fees: No fee for reference.
